Schwind (21 January 1804 ? 8 February 1871) was an Austrian painter, born in Vienna and an Austrian nationalist who painted from deep inspiration "from chivalry, folklore, and the songs of the people" (Wikipedia). Bound in red paper over boards, red cloth-backed, red-stamped lettering to cover and spine. Rubbing to extremities, moderate wear to panels, tips, edges, slight concave presentation to boards, but clean, tightly bound, and unmarked of interior. Decorated endpapers. Volume IX in the series, Klassiker der Kunst. Fine black-and-white portrait of Schwind from 1854.
