Rücken fehlt, Einbanddeckel etwas gebräunt und an den Gelenken oben und unten mit kleinen Feuchtigkeitsspuren (nur außen und an den Vorsätzen), innen völlig fleckenfreies und sauberes Exemplar. Erste Ausgabe des Versuchs einer kompletten deutschen Übe…rtragung, die allerdings über diesen ersten Band nicht hinauskam. Nicht sehr häufig. Eine erste deutsche Teilübertragung veröffentlichte aber bereits 1839 Hermann Brockhaus (der Schwager von Richard Wagner). Die Mängel natürlich deutlich im Preis berücksichtigt, neu aufgebunden könnte daraus aber durchaus wieder ein sehr schönes Exemplar werden. Einziges bekanntes Werk des Samodeva Bhatta, einem Dichter und Brahmanen des 11. Jahrhundert aus Kaschmir über den nicht viel bekannt ist. Das Werk entstand vermutlich zwischen 1063-1081 für Königin Suryamati, der Frau von König Ananta von Kaschmir und deren Unterhaltung. Es geht aber auf noch weit umfangreichere Sanskrit-Vorgänger-Werke zurück, aus denen der Autor schöpft. Der österreichische, polyglotte Erzählforscher und Übersetzer A. Wesselski (auch A. Wesselstà - 1871-1939) wurde besonders für seine Märchenforschungen bekannt. Sprache: de.
