TWO VOLUME SET. xii, 483pp, illustrated with 12 black & white photographic plates/drawings and 18 folding maps, illustrated endpapers, edges foxed, occasional foxing within, mostly front and end matter, blue and green silk marker, green cloth with blue over to create a green stripe around the middle, gilt spine lettering and gilt insignia to front, some slight wear to volume II boards. With a two-page, typed letter from the author, dated 11th March 1925, to Colonel Mordaunt of the same regiment, complaining of the treatment of the regiment in early amalgamations. Size: 8.75 X 5.5 Inches. Military.

(cmt) In two parts . Volume I: The Old Army. Service in Canada (War of 1812), India, Indian Mutiny, Ireland, and Boer War. Volume II: The Great War and The Disbandment of the Regiment. The Regiment fought in France, Gallipoli, Macedonia and Palestine. The Regiment was disbanded in 1922 with the formation of the modern Irish Free State. Colonel Whitton also wrote "Wolfe and North America" (1929).
