One of the folding plates in Volume 1 is a large (51 x 40 cm.) engraving of typographical ornaments, borders, etc. The Subscribers List is present at the beginning of Volume 1. The final leaf of Volume 1 is an advertisment, giving prices for bookbinding equipment available from Greve, and with the printer's imprint on the verso (Berlin, gedruckt bei G. Hayn). Full black calf, the spine designed and lettered in gilt, marbled end papers. Very expertly rebacked (not recently), a clean very good copy. A complete copy of this important German bookbinding manual. First published in 1822 - 23, this is the second edition of 1832; it appears typographically identical to the first edition, with a new title page.
