(pub. 1817 & 18) Engraved illustrations by William Deeble, 50 plus folding map to the first volume and 55 to the second volume. Small 8vo. Bound in nineteenth-century navy polished calf, brown leather label, gilt tooled borders and raised bands, some light surface scratches and rubbing to extremities, endpapers and all edges marbled, silk tie present, volumes I & II both smartly bound together in single volume, engraved titles and plates all present and correct (save for the first plate 'View at Birchington' which has been bound in opposite engraved title rather than at p.23), light marginal foxing to a number of these, some gentle thubbing, but overall text is clean and tight, a pleasing example of this topographical title on Kent; with the added interest of having a mid century ink inscription upon front endpaper: 'the travelling book of the late Dr. Collyer of Peckham, Surrey'. This presumably refers to William Bengo' Collyer (1782-1854), the congregational minister who ran the Peckham, and later Hanover Chapel during the first twenty years of the nineteenth century. 147; 192pp. [index].
