Hardcover. Pale beige cloth with gilt lettering. Bw photographic dj. 36 pp. text plus 307 bw plates. Covers many castles and mansions in 12 regions throughout Bohemia and Moravia. Includes a map of State castles and mansions in the Czech area, a catalogue of the castles and mansions, and a section on the care of State monuments. (Given the Prague Spring in 1968 and other political changes in the region, some of the "State" information is likely obsolete but, nonetheless, interesting.) Section A includes an introduction about castles and the feudal system, adaptations in architecture and interiors from one period to the next (Romanesque, Gothic, etc.). Section B consists solely of the full-page bw plates of both interiors and exteriors of these beautiful buildings. VG- clean and tight interior with bump to upper right corner of front cover. DJ badly worn at all edges and torn at spine (repaired with tape) and with some foxing to back (plain white) cover.
