Original magazine parts bound in a half-yearly volume of light blue cloth pictorially blocked in black to front covers, gilt to spine. Contents clean, light spotting to endpapers, covers lightly worn, sgilt rubbed to spine. Near fine. SCARCE FIRST APPEARANCE of Christie's Hercule Poirot story 'The Mystery of the Baghdad Chest', with exclusive illustrations. This title was later collected in book-form, subject to amendments. Also contains 'Beauty Spots' by Rudyard Kipling, and 'The Queer Story of Brownlow's Newspaper' by H.G. Wells; a strange tale 'without an explanation'. This volume also features several 'Sapper'/Bulldog Drummond adventures and some Wodehouse stories including a Mulliner caper.

Large octavo (24 x 18cm), bound in publisher's light blue pictorial cloth. Contents clean, prize label to pastedown, binding carefully handled with some minor rubs, gilt to spine a little tarnished. Very good indeed. Also includes an Archie story and others by Wodehouse, The Man in Ratcatcher and others by 'Sapper', The Uncharted Coast by A.C. Doyle, and several other stories and articles among which Lowell Thomas' Life Story of Col. T.E. Lawrence titled The Uncrowned King of Arabia. Listed in BBC's Big Read (200 Best Novels) [2003].
