His favoured choice was the actor and writer: Catriona Ni Mhurchu (born in 1969) at 5ft 6 ins with reddy auburn hair and green eyes, with fair skin and freckles): "Maybe it's the Munster heritage, maybe here is someone who has a close affinity with her background and culture who not only captures Fidelma physically, but bin the inflection of her voice, the look and spirit which brings the character to life in exactly the way I had envisioned her when I created her'" Further photographs available upon request.
