[.]" - Zauper war Professor der griechischen Sprache und Grammatik am Gymnasium in Pilsen, wurde später dessen Präfekt Rektor des Professoren-Kollegiums, erzbischöflicher Notar und Schulrat. Er schrieb mehrere poetologische Arbeiten und wurde vor allem als Homer-Übersetzer bekannt. Goethe lernte er in Marienbad kennen und führte bis zu dessen Tod einen freundschaftlichen Briefwechsel mit ihm. 1822 erschienen seine "Studien über Goethe".
