Bernardo De Dominici (Napoli, 1683-1759) è tra le personalità più controverse della storiografia artistica italiana. Modesto pittore di paesaggi, mercante di disegni e aspirante letterato, pubblicò dopo una lunga elaborazione, tre tomi di "Vite de' pittori, scultori e architetti napoletani" (1742-1745).
