Condition: Good. 1951. First Published. 127 pages. No dust jacket. Signed by the author. Red cloth. Flatsigned by author to title page. Light thumb marking, foxing and noticeable tanning to pages. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking to gutters and hinges but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean.

Small shallow crease to lower left corner of mount, otherwise very good condition, mounted ready to frame. Donald Lionel Mays (b.1900) studied under E.J. Sullivan at Goldsmith's and is well known for his illustrations for the Jennings books of Anthony Buckeridge, several books by Streatfeild and Percy F. Westerman and one by Angela Brazil.
