Condition: Good. 1938. 3rd Edition. 184 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth covered boards with gilt. Pages are moderately tanned and occasionally foxed throughout. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Boards have mild edge wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Sunning to spine. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Boards have minor damp and dust stains. Book has a slight forward lean.

Condition very good plus, corners and spine ends slightly rubbed, a few spots to end-papers else contents very clean throughout. Contains upwards of 500 fine engravings on 14 plates, 400 original engravings by Tuffen West and around 100 additional illustrations by the reviser E.C. Bousfield. The engravings are finely executed and in very clean condition.

Title states 'with upwards of four hundred illustration by Tuffen West' . We believe this 1864 copy was the 2nd edition of this popular title. To sum up a remarkably clean copy.
