    Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Small octavo. Pale brown cloth titled in black. Light soiling on the boards, near fine lacking the dust jacket. Inscribed by the author: "To Barrett H. Clark Sincerely Martin Flavin. 12/10/29." Clark was an exceptionally important figure in modern American drama, aside from authoring and translating many plays, he served as the longtime literary editor for the drama publisher Samuel French. This play was the basis for the 1950 film noir *Convicted,* starring Glenn Ford, Broderick Crawford, and Dorothy Malone. Johnson. *The Dark Page II*: p.64.
