Hardcover. Condition: New. No Jacket. 1st Edition, Limited Edition. INCREDIBLY SCARCE SIGNED DELUXE SLIPCASED EDITION!! UK LIMITED EDITION, HAND NUMBERED & SIGNED BY FORMER CONSERVATIVE PRIME MINISTER BORIS JOHNSON! FIRST EDITION, first printing. Book is brand new and unread. Personally hand signed by Boris Johnson directly to specially bound Publisher's signature page reading, "Limited Signed Edition". NOT inscribed to anyone. NOT a bookplate. Deluxe Slipcased Signed and numbered limited edition, with coloured cloth binding, ribbon, head and tail bands. From Brexit to Covid and beyond, the former Prime Minister reflects on his turbulent premiership in this memoir of Westminster power politics. Shattering the mould of the modern prime ministerial memoir and written in his inimitable style, Boris Johnson s Unleashed is an honest, unrestrained and deeply revealing book by the politician who has dominated our times. Underlying everything in the book is Johnson s belief that the UK is an extraordinary country and should have an exceptional future. From trouncing Ken Livingstone in the London mayoral race in 2008 to becoming Prime Minister, he takes readers through all the big decisions during his time in power and the reasons he took them. The challenges and crises, how they were resolved - or not - and how he nearly died from Covid. Riots, knife crime, bikes, buses, the London Olympics and so much more. He writes about his role in Brexit and the constitutional sea-change that took place in British politics in 2019 with his landslide election victory and the massive expansion in the groups that think of themselves as Conservative. This is the reality as he saw it: unvarnished, uncensored, unleashed. Signed by Author(s).

Add to basketChurchill writes to the editor of the Daily Mail, Oscar Pulvermacher, complimenting "the most admirable article" the paper published on his book India and adding that "the book is selling moderately and I should be much obliged if you could give a few more little panels of quotations from it". India, published on 27 May 1931, collected Churchill's speeches opposing British moves towards Indian self-government, a stance that deepened his exclusion from high office in the 1930s and remains among the most controversial of his career. The article, "'Jix' looks at India", by Sir William Joynson-Hicks, was published in the Daily Mail on 2 June 1931 and praised the book as essential reading for "every man who cares for the greatness of his country and who has some conception of what India means to Great Britain". No "little panels of quotations" appeared in subsequent issues of the Daily Mail, though on 4 July they published a brief article, "Mr Churchill and India peril", which quoted the book and said it "should be read by everyone who would have a clear vision of what India means to the Empire". Provenance: the collection of Steve Forbes, chairman of Forbes Magazine, and presidential candidate in the 1996 and 2000 US elections. Single sheet of Chartwell letterhead (254 x 204 mm), typed one side. A little creased and toned. In very good condition.
