In Near Fine dust jacket, small chips top and bottom edges rear panel at spine. "Second Foundation", 1953. is First Edition, First State in original light blue boards, spine stamped in brown, Very Good, cloth a bit rubbed at spine ends, light toning to end pages at edges, top edge soiled, in a Very Good dust jacket, 1/2" chip top edge front panel at spine, light edge wear and soiling. The text block was printed by Gnome Press, the original publisher of these books. Later, after Gnome's shuttering, they were bound by Doubleday. Isaac Asimov, at the time of signing these books (Aug 9, 1976), relayed to the owner of the books that he had heard the remaining Gnome text blocks had been wrapped in Doubleday covers, but he had never seen the final result. Therefore, these are perhaps the only signed mixed-publication copies. Foundation and Foundation and Empire are later Gnome text blocks in first edition Doubleday dust jackets. Second Foundation is a later Doubleday edition. Inscribed by Isaac Asimov as, To Neil Sh - good wishes, Isaac Asimov 9 Aug 76. Hardcover. Pages are yellowed in Foundation and Foundation and Empire, typical of Gnome books and their cheap production. Shelf wear to all the dust jackets with a tear to the back cover of Foundation. FOUNDATION & EMPIRE and SECOND FOUNDATION have bumps at the upper rear fore edge corner tips. This work awarded the HUGO for the best all time series. (Editorial note: We would love to say that our dust-wrapper for FOUNDATION is the rare issue with the main character throughout the series name misspelled on the front dust-wrapper flap, but ironically, this major typo (Hari Sheldon for Hari Seldon) exists on all first printing dust-wrappers and was not caught until the second printing of this volume. To make matters even a bit more bizarre, the misspelled name also exists on the rear flap of FOUNDATION AND EMPIRE). Signed postcard by Asimov laid in.

Seemingly unread volume in VG condition with a bit of edge wear to boards, PO's name and date on ffep, bookstore markings visible under erasure attempt (also on ffep), and discoloration from glue along hinge areas of front and rear endpapers. Jacket in VG- condition with shelf and edge wear, tiny tears and chipping, soiling, scratching, etc. Small patches of scotch tape applied to inside of jacket to secure small tears. The Antonine Itinerary (Latin: Itinerarium Antonini Augusti, lit. "The Itinerary of the Emperor Antoninus") is a famous itinerarium, a register of the stations and distances along various roads. Seemingly based on official documents, possibly from a survey carried out under Augustus, it describes the roads of the Roman Empire.
