Interné jusqu'à la fin de ses jours en « placement d'office » à l'hôpital psychiatrique pour paranoïa dangereuse, il y mourra le 19 mars 1970. Entassement, promiscuité et violence font le quotidien de l'asile en ce temps là, mais Daniel, guidé par sa mission planétaire, lutte sans relâche pour maintenir l'Équilibre terrestre, et peut-être personnel. Par ses combats et son activité retrouvée de pâtissier professionnel, il reconquiert sa dignité. A l'instar des écrits de D.P Schreber, les textes de Daniel H. sont ceux d'un paranoïaque délirant. « Soyez les secrétaires de l'aliéné », conseillait J. Lacan aux psychanalystes. C'est par les écrits et photos que Daniel a laissés et par les témoignages que j'ai recueillis que j'ai pu retracer sa vie. S. Freud, et surtout J. Lacan m'ont apporté l'éclairage théorique nécessaire.
