Kaum einen Fortschritt gegenüber dieser Notiz bringen die Ausführungen in der ersten kritischen Ausgabe des Ptolemaios von Ingemar Düring aus dem Jahre 1930, da sich Düring ebenfalls nur auf den Abschnitt aus der Harmonice Mundi stützt. Er zitiert Kepler recht ausführlich, behauptet fälschlicherweise, Kepler habe die erste lateinische, 1562 in Venedig erschienene Übersetzung des Ptolemaios von Antonius Gogavinus nicht gekannt, und erwartet weiteren Aufschluß von den in Wien aufbewahrten Papieren Keplers.
