SIGNED by the author on inside front cover, this copy being number 58 of a limited edition of 115 copies, and the booklet is "number 12 in an occasional series". GLO himself was a fine player who appeared at first-class level for Hampshire and MCC. There is little doubt that, had he not decided to take up his religious calling, he would have become a very successful player at the top level. With help from family archives and considerable newspaper and other research, the prolific writer David Battersby produced a most readable and invaluable account of GLO's career - he played Minor Counties cricket for Dorset and a great deal of club cricket in that county: for Dorchester CC, St George's CC, Dorset Rangers CC and others.
