La prima parte (con autonomo frontespizio) - Il ragazzo di Atripalda (vita, umanità e poesia di Alfredo Bonazzi) - narra la vita del poeta ergastolano Alfredo Bonazzi (Atripalda, 1929), condannato all'ergastolo per l'omicidio di un tabaccaio commesso nel 1960 a Milano e graziato nel 1973 dal Presidente della Repubblica Leone. La seconda parte è un'antologia curata da Giùttari della produzione lirica del Bonazzi, che proprio nell'esperienza carceraria aveva scoperto l'amore per la poesia. Italiano.

The author of this book, Sir John Charles Robinson, was a renowned art connoisseur and collector who was appointed the first curator of South Kensington Museum in 1853. A good copy with some rubbing and edgewear to the covers. The leather spine label is lightly wrinkled and there is a small stain at the bottom of the spine. The text is very good with some light soiling and wear. A few pages have some light spotting in the margins. Inscribed by Author(s).

Schönes, ausdrucksvolles Blatt und eines von mehreren von mir erworbenen Arbeiten der Künstlerin. Zur Vita konnte ich leider keine weiteren Daten finden, auch in entsprechender Lexika finden sich keine Hinweise. Laut Angaben des Vorbesitzers, der diverse Blätter der Künstlerin in Paris direkt von ihr selbst erwarb, arbeitete diese Ende der 1970er-Jahre in Paris. Wenige dabei befindliche Reproduktionen (Ausschnitte aus einer nicht identifizierbaren argentinischen Zeitschrift) von Arbeiten derselben weisen zusätzlich auf ihre argentinische Herkunft hin. Da nichts weiteres bekannt ist, kann ich nur die durchgehend hohe Qualität der Blätter selbst sprechen lassen. Im Mittelpunkt der Arbeiten stehen Mensch und Tier, besonders Pferde, Stiere u.a. andere Tiere der argentinischen Heimat der Künstlerin. Sprache: de.

The photomontage underlying the print was said to have originated during a trip Vostell undertook from Cannes to New York on the ship "Raffaello". [Ref. Wolfgang Vomm - Wolf Vostell. Second Fornaciari edition, first printing, inscribed on the front pastedown to George Bataille, philosopher and critic of Surrealism, by his college friend Georges Recoura: "A Georges Bataille, l'ami affectueux des heures lourdes de Londres, Georges Recoura, 8 Novembre 1920". Both Bataille and Recoura had recently graduated from the École des Chartes in Paris. In the year of the inscription, Bataille (1897-1962) moved to London for a study stay at the British Museum. Recoura (1897-1925) appears to have been in the city around the same time (see Porcher, p. 237), before 1922. The two eventually were hired by the Bibliothèque nationale de France as librarians - Recoura in 1922 and Bataille in 1924. Dante famously appears in the first Surrealist manifesto as a literary precursor of the movement; Bataille had a complex relationship with both. Initially attracted by Surrealism, the philosopher later distanced himself from it, writing works on its contradictions. In a heated discussion following the reading of Bataille's paper "The Surrealist Religion" in Paris in 1948, the philosopher admitted: "I don't know Dante's Inferno particularly well". Bataille (and the Surrealists) dismissed religion and Christian morality in particular. This charming pocket-size Dante was first published in 1904; the second edition was entirely revised and corrected.
