Nine of the booklets were available in French and 15 were available in Spanish. The theory of breeder reactors in relationship to a discussion of fission is presented. Different kinds of reactors are characterized by the cooling fluids used, such as liquid metal, gas, and molten salt. The historical development of breeder reactors includes specific examples of reactors. Lists of relevant reading topics and of motion pictures are included. Walter Mitchell III was a Vice President at Southern Nuclear Engineering, Inc. He career in the nuclear industry began with design work on prototype ship-propulsion reactors and evolved into design work on all types of nuclear plants. Stanley Turner was a reactor physicist who was engaged in reactor design and analysis, the development of analytical techniques and computer programs, and fuel-management studies.
