- - - - - - - - - - In-8 ° paperback under cover of old paper waiting of the time, copy in perfect condition, 10 pages. "I think that Louis XVI must be tried, not that this opinion should be suggested to me by a spirit of revenge, for nothing is further from my character, but because this measure seems to me to be just, legitimate, and conformable. to sound politics ". . "In the particular case, submitted at this moment to our deliberation, I make the following propositions to the National Convention: first, that the National Convention banish Louis Capet and his family, secondly, that Louis Capet be held in prison until the end of the war, and at that time the sentence of banishment be put into execution ". Martin & Walter, 26330 and 26331 - The execution of the king was decided by a single voice, which was long reproached to Philip of Orleans. On the other hand, whether or not in connection with Louis XVI's decisive aid to the United States, Thomas Payne demanded banishment after imprisonment until the end of the war. Thomas Paine, born January 29, 1737 in Thetford in Great Britain and died June 8, 1809 in New York in the United States, is an intellectual, pamphleteer, British, American and French revolutionary. He is known for his commitment during the American Revolution to the independence of the thirteen British colonies in North America. He exposed his positions in a famous pamphlet entitled Common Sense, published a few months before the signing of the American Declaration of Independence in 1776.
