The final design, without titles/lettering. Approximate dimensions 145mm x 105mm, in full colour on paper mounted to artboard with acetate release sheet. Titled and SIGNED below image in artist's pencil by Scutt, with his ink chop to lower right. Conservation framed and glazed; in an elegant acid-neutral white card mount, backed with pH neutral corri-cor barrier board beneath 2mm float glass, bespoke smooth black moulding. Approx. overall dimensions 15 x 12.5 inches. Fine condition. Following Richard Chopping, Bill Botton and Trevor Scobie, artist David Scutt produced some distinctive original artwork for many of the James Bond continuation novels by John Gardner and Raymond Benson. In the 1990's he also produced striking cover designs for Coronet's re-issued series of the Ian Fleming originals. His other commissions have included the three covers for the 'His Dark Materials' series by Phillip Pullman, plus the illustration for the omnibus volume.
