Octavo, 235p + 319p. Contemporary full calf, double gilt ruled borders, the spine with raised bands, gilt in compartment, contrasting red and black lettering pieces. The leather spine rubbed and sl worn but most attractive. The boards are well attached and the joints are not cracked. Bookplate of Chrisr. Jeaffreson Esy, of Dullingham House, Cambridgeshire. Contents of this volume include the History of Europe, disturbances in Madrid, affairs in Indostan, Clive arrives in Bengal, state of affairs in America, the right of taxation, repeal of the stamp act, free ports in the West Indies, Madam Pompadour, Captain Glas murdered, account of orang utan, account of a hot Arabian wind, the hippo, antiquities, various recipes, essays poetry and much else.
