'After his efforts to journey from the Niger River to the Nile, Boyd Alexander returned to Africa travelling through the Cameroons, Nigeria, and into French Equatorial Africa where he was killed by Furian tribesmen. Pages are moderately tanned and thumbed at the edges, with moderate foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards have been moderately rub worn. Noticeable shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed Spine ends are crushed, with noticeable splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. The boards are shelf rubbed, edge worn and lightly marked, but remain strong and sturdy, with bright gold gilt to the front and spine. Internally, there is a gift inscription on the front end page and there is light tanning and foxing throughout, but there are no other markings or inscriptions, and the pages within are neat and complete with all illustrations and maps present.
