While pre-natal influence has been widely writ ten upon in medical literature, as will be seen from this part of the book, such writing has been done in a fragmentary manner. No writer has ever collated sufficient proof of this influence to be convincing, and to use such to show how it may be applied for the benefit of the race. Besides those whose writings on this subject have been recorded in medical literature, a few have dealt with it to.a certain extent in a popular form, but the subject has never been investigated on a scientific basis and put in such a way that any practical results could ensue.
