Drift step size is the maximum of pe and w, in this case electron transport, which scales like the square of the step size, is enhanced. Numerical results confirm that resonance of the electric potential at the rational magnetic surfaces may cause anomalous electron transport. The conclusion is substantiated by a calculation of the confinement time using the Monte Carlo method. Introduction of an electric potential as small as two percent of the temperature may bring down the confinement.
