I have been selling secondhand books since the 1990s, my major specialities being books on Cricket, Africa, West Indies, and Kent. Like all booksellers, I have other areas on which a number of books are available, such as Architecture & Building, Golf, Dorset, Sussex, Military, Ornithology, Railways, and the works of Alec Waugh. I am also able to sell a number of books on Cranbrook, the lovely little Kent town where I live - see the "Cranbrook" catalog. The "Kent" catalog is therefore essentially non-Cranbrook. I joined the AbeBooks system in April 2010. New or recent acquisitions means that I am regularly uploading additional books, so please bookmark the Carvid Books site and check back every now and then! I no longer accept Paypal as a payment option following a most unpleasant and completely unjustified issue with a buyer. PLEASE NOTE, however, that for customers within the EU, and indeed elsewhere, I am unable to take any responsibility for any delay or any clearing charges or fees on arrival.

All books and other items are described as fully and accurately as possible but, if there is any issue when a book or other item is received, please contact me by email or telephone. In addition to debit/credit cards through the AbeBooks system, I accept personal cheque drawn on a UK bank, bank transfer, or cash if you might be located close enough to me in the Garden of England to collect! All emails are answered personally and quickly, and all books etc are dispatched from my UK location.
Shipping terms
Orders usually ship within two business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. Unless indicated otherwise, shipping to a UK address is included in the indicated shipping price, regardless of the weight, though please refer to the relevant individual listings in case of any exceptions. For orders from outside UK, if the required book weighs in excess of 1kg when packed, I may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
