Coloured frontispiece. 289 pp., red top edged, with numerous black and white photographs and drawings. The book is in very good condition. There is minor she…lf-wear to the extremities of the cover especially the head and tail of the spine, the spine is lightly sunned. The hinges are intact but in one place the book has been pressed flat and the webbing can be seen, the binding is a little slack. There is offsetting to the feps. Otherwise the pages are clean and unmarked. A nice copy.

Sir Albert Edward Richardson (1880-1964) was an architect who favoured styles developed from the classical and renaissance and was responsible for the design of numerous flats, offices, business premises, including shop fronts and later was concerned with the repair damaged buildings. He began his collaboration with Harry Batsford in the publication of books of architectural history in 1911 and held the chair of architecture at University College London, 1919-1946.
