A 1954 first publication, in the centenary year, of the authors extensive report on the origins and composition of one of the Isle of Mans most iconic historical industrial attractions. Illustrated with sketches by Sylvest Hansen and photographs by the author. A thorough and technical report on the lead mine, including fold out maps and diagrams showing the wheel and the mine workings. 94 pages plus maps and diagrams.

Grey, illustrated paper folder, A4 size, containing 5 x folded A3 sized 7reproductions of illustrations prepared by J Kenneth Major, B. Arch., A.R.I.B.A., for the information of a professor from Columbia University, New York, who was carrying out research into East Anglian Tide Mills. He was attempting to construct a watermill on the Hudson River, known following its restoration, as Sleepy Hollow, the vicinity of which had been settled by colonists from East Anglia. A very scarce item.
