Gloves offered for the spring season include Lafayette, Alexander Real Kid, Traver, Empress Eugenie, etc. Bates, Reed & Cooley was a very large establishment in the dry-goods jobbing trade in the city of New York. It had an honorable and successful career of about thirty years' duration. The company paid liberal salaries in order to secure the best helpers in all departments, and they had agents in various parts of Europe procuring supplies to meet the demands of the multitude of buyers who were attracted to their establishment.
