(illustrator). 30, 30, 30, 30pp [four tales bound together, that were originally issued individually], very well-illustrated in colour by Randolph Caldecott, hardcover, 4to, bound in cream, orange and brown pictorial cloth, black and orange lettering, the cream of the cloth has darkened with age and use particularly on the spine, there is some softened to top and bottom of spine, and some of the pages are scuffed and softened at the edges, early inscription on the first free endpaper (crossed out), together with a later one of 1943 otherwise in good overall condition, Frederick Warne And Co. Ltd, London and New York, no published date given, circa late 1890s.

Pages unnumbered, estimated about 150. Includes colorful frontispiece by Randolph Caldecott and Edmund Evans, short biographies of each artist, and many black and white engravings by the artists, ranging in size from quarter page to full page. Final marked page states "Thirty-five copies of this catalogue have been issued with eight proof impressions of the original woodblocks". This copy marked number 9 in blue pen following that statement. Front free endpaper inscribed by publisher/compiler, "To D---, who share our enjoyment of these special blocks, as well as Caldecott's books. With affection, Gail". Pages clean and bright.
