Covers have some scuffing. Inside front cover has a bookplate from a previous owner and front endpaper has the name of a previous owner and a date of 1842 written in middle. Inner back hinge is split by back cover. Back cover has a bookstore sticker at bottom. Pages have some tanning. Some pages have foxing. Book is in fair condition. One barely noticeable, small, neat page margin repair. Tissue-guarded, steel-engraved frontispiece and engraved half-title, plus many woodcuts. Wide-ranging, comprehensive contents, from all aspects of guns and equipment to gundogs and all types of quarry, from game to wildfowl, deer to rooks. An excellent book. See photographs attached. Small amount of loss to the front and rear pastedowns towards the hinges, most likely due to rebacking. Internally firmly bound. Pages are generally clean with light age toning to the extremities of numerous pages, alongside the odd spot. Tidemark to the reverse of the frontispiece. Very Good. Various (illustrator). book.
