Ab 1660 ist er in Nürnbe…rg tätig und war von 1699 bis 1704 zweiter Direktor der Nürnberger malerakademie. Seit 1677 hatte er in Nürnberg die erste private eigene Sternwarte gebaut. Dazu verfasste er ein Werk über die Einrichtung von Sternwarten und ein Werk über den Gebrauch der Himmelsgloben. - Exemplare der Original-Globen sind kaum auffindbar (ein Globenpaar ist in der Vatikanischen Sammlung). - Es fehlt der Messingpolring. Der obere Teil des Globus ist in den Farben weniger leuchtend, wie der untere geschützte Teil. Die Holzplatte zwischen den 4 Füßen in der Mitte gebrochen und auf dem unteren Holzkreuz montiert.
