Bright red boards are clean and unmarked, with only the slightest sun fading to the top of the spine where the dust jacket did not cover. Gift inscription to the frontispiece dated Christmas 1938. Illustrated dust jacket, priced 2/6, has been placed in a protective cover at some stage; it remains intact and bright but is ragged at the edges (see photos).
