Pp255. 16 b/w photograph plates, tables. Maroon blind-ruled cloth, spine titled in gilt. Cloth faded & stained, several end-paper names. A good copy without dust-wrapper. ".Containing descriptions of Angling Days spent on the Rivers and Principal Loughs throughout the Country. Setting forth their True Sporting Quality; with Hints on Flies, Tackle and other information helpful to Fishermen." The author contributed to the angling press under the pen-name "Corrigeen." The British Library gives a date of 1925 for this edition, but from the books advertised on the rear flap of the dust-wrapper it is apparent that it was published circa 1929. Although described as a "revised edition," the revisions are minimal, the only obvious one being the omission of the 1924 preface by the Marquess of Sligo. Sligo's piece, which empasised the lawlessness of the west of Ireland in 1922 and 1923, and especially, the prevalence of poaching, must have been discouraging for potential buyers of the book. It was replaced by a new author's preface, playing down the poaching and encouraging visiting anglers. .
