Ces volumes représentent une étape importante dans les études floristiques en Egypte (Le Caire 1941, 1950, 1954 et 1969). Ils comprennent les plantes enregistrées dans le Sinaï qui appartiennent aux familles étudiées. M. Drar a été le fondateur et le directeur de trois importants jardins botaniques au Caire. Il a créé la section botanique, le jardin, la bibliothèque et l'herbier du Musée de l'agriculture, où sont encore conservées ses importantes collections d'Égypte et du Soudan.

Die Leitfrage lautet hierbei: Inwiefern ist Facebook ein Brandbeschleuniger für den Konflikt in Äthiopien Zur Beantwortung dieser Frage soll aus konstruktivistischer Perspektive die Hypothese untersucht werden, dass Facebook vorherrschende Feindbilder innerhalb der äthiopischen Gesellschaft verstärkt und dadurch den Konflikt zwischen den verschiedenen Völkern verschärft. Diese Hypothese wird anhand folgender Teilaspekte der zentralen Funktionsweisen der Plattform Facebook untersucht. Erstens anhand des Algorithmus, der die Verbreitung von Inhalten auf Facebook bestimmt. Hierfür werde ich darlegen, wie der Facebook Algorithmus Negativdarstellungen und Feindbilder bei der Verbreitung behandelt. Zweitens anhand der, zum Teil algorithmischen, Kontrollmechanismen, die das Unternehmen Meta einsetzt, um geteilte Inhalte auf Facebook zu filtern und gegebenenfalls zu zensieren.Seit November 2020 herrscht in der Region Tigray und Umgebung ein andauernder Bürgerkrieg, begleitet von alarmierenden Berichten zu (Massen-)Vergewaltigungen und sexueller Gewalt als Kriegshandlungen. Neben Kriegshandlungen bedroht eine Hungerkrise die Zivilbevölkerung, das UN-Welternährungsprogramm spricht von 83 % der Bevölkerung in Tigray ohne Nahrungsmittelsicherheit. Im Länderreport des Bundesamts für Migration und Flüchtlinge wird von 900.000 Binnengeflüchteten aufgrund der anhaltenden Konflikte gesprochen, aktuellere Berichte sprechen von 1,2 Millionen in Äthiopien, die gezwungen waren ihre Heimat zu verlassen.Die Veröffentlichungen der sogenannten Facebook Papers durch die ehemalige Facebook-Mitarbeiterin Frances Haugen bestätigten zudem die jahrelangen Befürchtungen von Expert\*innen über den weitreichenden Einfluss der Plattform in krisenhaften Kontexten und vor allem die mangelnde Verantwortungsübernahme durch das Unternehmen Meta. Gilt-lettered maroon cloth; a few minor signs of age and handling; an excellent set. Text primarily in English with occasional Arabic. The second and third volumes also contain preliminary matter in Arabic, and an index to Arabic names.

Varying binding. Condition: Good. First Edition. [1954 - 1969]. Four volumes. The first three volumes are duplicates from East Malling Research Station librray, the only marking being a stamp on the half-title and shelf numbers on the spines, very clean internally, stoutly bound in a good red quarter leather and cloth binding. Volume Four is smartly bound in brown cloth. Overall quite an attractive set. The second volume has an inscriptin from the authors, and was originally given the othe botanist F.W. Andrews. A heavy set - extra postage will be needed. [The Flora, not unexpectedly, is an unusual work. It is a labour of love, clearly carried out unhurriedly in the tradition of those great botanical scholars Tackholm would emulate. It has been hailed as a model of scholarship and completeness. One special feature is the detailed treatment of the extensive ancient Egyptian tomb flora; another is the attention paid throughout the volumes to agriculturally important plants and economic botany. Also the enormous bibliographies, which provide access to the ancient and modern Arabic literature, are gems" - extracted from Abraham D. Krikorian's obituary in "Nature".].
