November 1863 zu Burghersdorp, Südafrika, studierte in Breslau, Freiburg und London, erhielt, 1887 in Freiburg promoviert, in Frankfurt a. M. unter WEIGERT seine histologische und pathologisch-anatomische Ausbildung und trat dann in Freiburg bei KRASKE als Assistent in die Chirurgische Klinik ein. Er habilitierte sich hier 1891 für Chirurgie (1895 a. o. Professor Habilitationsschrift von der Lehre von den Neuronen.) und übernahm 1898 die chirurgische Leitung des Diakonissenhauses. Am 12. August 1913 starb er in Freiburg i.B. Goldmann erwarb sich als Chirurg, Physiologe, Biologe und Histologe besondere Verdienste.
