Angebunden: Scheffer, Johannes: Argentoratensis de antiquorum torquibus syntagma. ibidem, 1656. 62 Seiten. Erste Ausgabe. Ausgabe in Latein. Vellum binding of the times with handwritten title on spine. First edition. Edition in Latin. Emund Figrelius (1622-1675) was a Swedish scholar and philologist. After Figrelius' death, the king bought his book collection for the universtity library of Lund, where, with 6,000 volumes, it forms a core part. This work on Roman statues is considered to be the first art historical treatise printed in Sweden. Bound with: Scheffer, Johannes: Argentoratensis de antiquorum torquibus syntagma. ibidem, 1656. 62 pages. First edition. Edition in Latin. Johannes Scheffer (1621-1679) was a humanistic scholar who worked mainly in Sweden with a special focus on classical philology. Like Figrelius, he taught at Uppsala University. With the bookplate of the Franco-Dutch politician and lawyer Charles Clément Roemers. Binding slightly rubbed and stained, corners only slightly bumped, pages minimally darkened, occasionally with very faint foxing and very few margins with small water stains, two pages with ink underlining and the errata on Scheffer crossed out with ink by an old hand. Near fine copy.
