Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 1st Edition. Ex-lib, and rather grubby with it, with various marks etc to text, compounded by tape residue to endpapers. May have been repaired at some stage as endpapers look newer (it's all relative). Quite a strong and strange odour too (perfume and tobacco?). Boards dulled and worn to edges, esp at head and foot of spine. But it's scarce so if you are a Frank Usher fan or a 'Daye Smith adventure' completist, it may appeal. Especially with an unclipped d/j as here. This has staining from tape to the edges of the inner flaps and some general wear to edges and a little creasing, but could be worse. Remains of label to spine. Scarce - otherwise you would be buying a better copy! 12mo. 173pp.

Book #457) "From the moment Grant Garfield was Lady Patricia Graham dancing at The Blue Bottle and identified the 'gentleman' with her as Lee Miles, the gunman, he realized that ther might be a great deal more to Pat Graham than met the eye - not that there was anything the matter with what did. But what strange impulse would drive someone so lovely and desirable to associate with a killer like Miles? Was it just the whim of a thrill-crazy girl or was there something else? Grant thought there was, so did a newshound called Randall, who followed Pat everywhere. What Inspector Broadway, lurking in the background, thought, nobody knew. And what any of the three men thought, Lady Pat neither knew nor cared . Chales Franklin, author of that sophisticated mystery Cocktails with a Stranger, has written another exciting who dunit about a girl who was too beautiful for her own good."; >>> Sophisticated Mystery; 1st paperback; *** Extremely RARE number in the White Circle Paperback series; VERY RARE Title by this Author; Great Good Girl Art Painted cover; "the Lady was a Crook"; AUTHOR NOT listed in my older HUBIN's Crime Fiction; Preceded by the 1949 UK Collins Hardcover; >> Oveerall GOOD copy, but 60% of the Spine has Paper Loss, thus FAIR.
