This wartime-era popular song exemplifies the polished romantic ballad style associated with Dinah Shore's mid-1940s radio popularity. The atmospheric monochrome cover portrait and soft-focus embrace imagery are strongly characteristic of commercial music graphics produced during the final years of World War II. Freddie Slack (1910-1965) was a prominent boogie-woogie and swing pianist best known for hits such as Cow Cow Boogie, while Dinah Shore became one of the defining vocalists of American radio and popular music during the 1940s.
