Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. First edition hardcover in green cloth covered boards with white titles and fox mask on cover. Foot of spine lightly bumped, lower tip of frt board has a rub, head of spine and four tips remain sharp. No former owner's names, no writing, tears or dog-eared pages, lightly foxed edge of page block, text clean w/an occasional light finger print. Original, price-clipped color illustrated dust wrapper is in very good condition with repaired chips and couple of creases at lower fore-edge but displays well in new mylar. The idea of this book originated from one or two articles in a Pony Club magazine. It consists of a number of hunting sketches, arranged in the form of a calendar. The author recreates the pleasures of a year's hunting, giving not only a fuller understanding of the best spirit of fox hunting as well as sharing a real appreciation of hound work through delightful pictures of the English countryside through the changing seasons.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. First edition hardcover in medium blue cloth covered boards with sharp tips and bumped spine ends. No tears, soil or defects within the tight, bright 156pp text. bright gilt title in black frame box on backstrip. Rare original, un-clipped dj in new mylar shows chipping at spine ends and color loss at periphery from storage, yet still displays well. Includes several fabulous line illustrations by Lionel Edwards. "There's a nice puppy," said Wiffen the Huntsman, Sally picked up a light-colored little morsel which had crawled out from the straw and began to bite her shoe-string. The puppy put out a pink little tongue and licked Sally's nose. "This is the one," said Sally, and it was. Dainty, a Foxhound, is the story of this puppy from her earliest days to her first hunt. It is an exciting and enjoyable story and as always, Mr. Greaves has a sure and experienced touch when he writes of hounds and people interested in them.
