Once listed, this will be the Only hardcover copy of this book for sale anywhere on the Internet. As you can see, the covers are perfectly clean. The photo, however, is not capturing the rich orange color. The edges and corners are free of any wear. There are a couple of tiny light creases just above the front bottom corner. They have no affect on any of the pages in the book. The page edges are very clean. The spine has a very slight forward lean. The front cover also bows out just a tiny bit. The book is very solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are nicely tight. So are the covers. There are no binding issues. The inside covers and end papers are an illustration of the teaching materials utilized in the Montessori teaching methods. They are all perfectly clean and free of any wear. I turned over all the pages in the book. They are immaculate. There is no soiling to be found anywhere. They're also nicely bright with very light toning at the margins. I didn't see any creasing of any kind on any of the pages. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. The large dust jacket is in excellent condition and is perfectly clean. The flaps are also in excellent shape, perfectly clean, no tears. The jacket is not priced or clipped. I removed the fitted protective cover to avoid glare in the photos. I'll replace it with a new one. Horn/Arndt, Kochbücher, 1115. - Einzige Ausgabe des umfangreichen, 1475 Rezepte enthaltenen Kochbuchs. Wie häufiger, so ist auch bei unserem Exemplar der Name der Autorin tektiert. Grund dürften Auseinandersetzungen mit Mary Hahn gewesen sein. Ingeborg Hahn war die zweite Ehefrau vom Marys Ex-Ehemann Ernst. Mary war 1928 aus dem bis dahin gemeinsam mit Ernst geführten Verlag ausgetreten und hatte in Berlin einen eigenen Verlag gegründet, starb aber kurz darauf, 1929, an einer Lungenentzündung. Eine nicht näher mit Belegen abgesicherter Eintrag im Internet behauptet, dass Ernst Hahn nebst Ehefrau Ingeborg seit 1929 "als verschollen" gelten. In Bibliotheken finden sich tatsächlich aus dem Verlag nur zwei Kochbücher aus dem Jahr 1929. Im Handel konnten wir allerdings zwei weitere Titel für 1929 sowie einen ("Weihnachts-Bäckereien") aus dem Jahr 1930 nachweisen. Hier eröffnet sich doch ein neues Feld für die historische Kochbuchforschung. - S. 523 bis 530 mit seitlichem Einriss (ca. 6 cm), sonst gutes, nur gering gebräuntes Exemplar. Der Einband wirkt wie ein später aufgebundenes Exemplar. Es handelt sich aber um den Originaleinband.
