First hardcover edition, with dust jacket, published by MIT Press, 1998. the importance and influence of the Julien Levy Gallery, the first American gallery to sponsor a show on Surrealism, and to champion the works of Neo-Romanticism, Magic Realism, and European photography. 190 pages, 6-3/4" X 9-1/2". 74 color plates, several additional photos and b&w illustrations through the text, high quality glossy coated stock paper. This is a remainder copy with an ink swipe on the top edge of the text block. Very sturdy lime green cloth covered boards with the title on the spine in silver. The dust jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Edges of the text block have some faint age foxing spots. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Binding is tight and square. Not a library discard copy. The attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
