Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the historical medical understanding of scrofula, a disease affecting the lymph nodes and other soft tissues. The author, Dr. Joseph Varing, was recognized in his time as a specialist in the disease, and his work presents both an overview of contemporary medical thought and a guide to treating this chronic condition. The author's insights remain significant in the history of medicine, and provide a fascinating glimpse into the challenges posed to medical practitioners of the early 19th century. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.

Kl.-8°. VIII, 73 S. Orig.-Brosch.
