Von den 767 Heilpräparaten, die in der ?SSR in den Jahren 1968 bis 1970 hergestellt wurden, besassen volle 137 als Grundlage pflanzliche Rohstoffe, und zwar 114 Arten. Am weitesten waren isolierte Wirkstoffe verbreitet, die in 129 Fällen verwendet wurden. Die grösste Anwendung finden Alkaloiddrogen (92 Fälle), Drogen mit ätherischen Ölen (59 Fälle) und Glykosiddrogen (58 Fälle). Auch die letzte Ausgabe des tschechoslowakischen Arzneibuches enthält eine bedeutende Anzahl von Drogen ? 87 einschliesslich einiger animalischer Drogen. Diese und ähnliche Rohstoffe sind auch in der Lebensmittel ? und in der kosmetischen Industrie verbreitet. Hieraus ergibt sich klar die Bedeutung von einfachen, schnellen und genauen Analysen, die nicht nur die Forschungsarbeit, sondern auch die Identitäts- und Qualitätskontrolle der Drogen ermöglichen. Den Beginn der Entwicklung und Anwendung der Dünnschicht-Chromatographie in der Analyse von Drogen bedeuteten die Arbeiten von Stahl, die um das Jahr 1956 erschienen. Seine Handbücher gehören auch heute noch zu den besten (1, 7, 8). Eine Reihe von Autoren benutzte die Dünnschichtchromatographie für das Studium von Inhaltsstoffen von Drogen. Z. B. Wagner (2) gebrauchte dieses Verfahren bei der Untersuchung von Radi? rhei und Hörhammer bei der Untersuchung von Aloe capensis (3). Eine wertvolle Anwendung findet die Dünnschicht-Chromatographie bei der Unterscheidung von echten und geschädigten Drogen.
