Cary worked as an assistant in the British Museum library and was in the circle of Coleridge and Lamb - as was George Darley, 1795-1846, the Irish poet. The essayist, lawyer & translator, Abraham Hayward, 1801-1884, published his translation of Savigny's On the Vocation of our Age for Legislation and Jurisprudence in 1831.
