It is finely engraved by Benjamin Wright to replace the plate in Barent Langenes's original 'Caert-Thresoor' of 1598. Recognisable cities on the coast include Calecota or Calcutta (Kolkata) and Chatigam (Chattogram). It was first published in 1598 by Barent Langenes in Middleburgh in a miniature atlas to rival that of Abraham Ortelius.
