1p., 8vo. In good condition, on lightly-aged paper. 'Mr. H. Clarence Whaite has held Art classes at Queen's College since Janary, 1934. [.] He has been most successful in encouraging the students to do individual work and the results have been excellent. | It has been of the greatest value to the College to have a visiting teacher who could bring such freshness and originality to the Art lessons and who, at the same time, took a keen interest in other subjects and in the general welfare of the students.' From the Whaite papers. Whaite was first cousin twice removed of his more famous namesake. He was himself an excellent artist and teacher, and there is a large collection of his work at the Whitworth Gallery in Manchester.

Seller: Aquila Books(Cameron Treleaven) ABAC, Calgary, AB, Canada
Quarto piece of letterhead. One old fold line. Vignette on upper left hand side. Interesting vignette title. Small tear on fold line. Has been used in a typewriter with manuscript corrections and signature. Slightly soiled but in attractive condition. An interesting piece of letterhead dating from the Klondike period. Although based in Washington D.C. it would certainly appear they were part of the Klondike Gold Rush based on the date. The vignetter shows a group of miners in a shaft using picks and shovels. The officers of the company are all listed and the last one is E.R. Haight Sup't of Mines for the US. He is also the author of the letter which is all mining content but seems to talk about California. There is also an interesting manuscript postscript commenting on the Dem. party and who should handle the funds of the party. Seems like a very interesting comment on today's politics! Scarce and attractive ephemera.
