Treatment script for an unproduced film. Based on Leo Tolstoy's 1872 novella, about two Russian soldiers who are kidnapped by rival militia. Screenwriter Eugene Lourie was best known as an art director, but also had success in screenwriting "Revolt in the Big House" (1958) and "The Giant Behemoth" (1959), and in directing "The Colossus of New York" (1958) and "Gorgo" (1961). Set in the North Caucasus. Green titled card wrappers, with credit for screenwriter E. LOURIE. Title page present, with credits for screenwriter Eugene Lourie and novelist Leo Tolstoy. 11 leaves, with last page of text numbered 9. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages Near FIne, wrapper Near Fine, bound internally with three gold brads.
