A new subspecies of the troglobitic, pulmonate snail Spelaeoconcha paganettii Sturany, viz. S. p. alphonsi subspec. nov., is described from Yugoslavia and data concerning the nominate subspecies and S. p. polymorpha Wagner, are summarized. The polytypic species is distributed from the coastal area westward to c. 130 km inland, which is a unique pattern for a molluscan troglobiont.
